100 Ways....

Found this link that has suggestions on how to create a better life. Even if your life already rocks, there might be ways to enhance it!

Wanted: New project

These last few weeks I have spent relaxing and not doing much of anything. After a hectic start to 2010 (Chuckles's wedding, the epic bicycle ride, the drawn-out break up), I just wanted to relax – spend my evenings reading, watching movies and downloaded tv, cutting, pasting and crafting.
But I find myself longing to have something to work on. GirlTalk Events has been somewhat slow this summer as the three of us are figuring out the company’s ins and outs. And I am sure once fall starts we will pick up again at a fast pace (hopefully?? I miss having a more structured social life).
I have been focusing on school work, but I want something more. I have been thinking about volunteering with the library tutoring kids learning to read. I have been considering applying for a regular volunteer position with the homeless shelter again. I have been contemplating signing up for another big ride or run or something to raise money for a cause. I am just not sure what I want to do right now – what direction to go in. What I am sure about is that I felt better about myself when I was giving back in some way. I had this passion when I would speak about the ride, my training, and my fundraising efforts. My enthusiasm felt contagious. I want to feel that again. I want to feel like I inspire others the way I have been inspired.

Do you have anything like that in life? What do you do to give back that ignites you?

Thankful Tuesday

I am thankful for coming home to flowers bought for me just because....

...and dinner prepped, ready to be cooked.

I am thankful for chatting, cuddling and connecting.

...and finding out that I could find happiness again.

A Challenge

Stampede once again got the best of my finances. I budget for it, but there is always one more party to attend, one more new deep fried food I want to try, one more ride to go on. So I went over budget.
For the next two weeks I am going to give up the cafeteria at work again. Bring my lunch every day to counter balance the excess I spent. This will also help pad my account for Chuckles's and my road trip to Spokane taking place at the end of the month.
Today was day one. No money was spent. 8 more work days to go.

The perfect cowgirl boot....

....seems to only exist in my mind. I am looking for a high boot (just below the knee), western detailing, brown or black, rounder toe, but not too round, maybe some buckle detailing too? Something I could toughen up sun-dresses with, wear with jeans (over or under) or even denim shorts and a cowgirl plaid...know of the perfect boot? Please let me know. It's a life or death situation almost.

Thankful Tuesday

I am thankful for ice cream floats and hot dogs. And combining them into the perfect summer lunch.

I am also thankful for banana, blueberry and cream cheese crepes which made the most delectable breakfast desert.

And I am thankful that I have a high metabolism so I could enjoy all of this on the same day.

3 more sleeps till free flapjacks take over my city! (www.flapjackfinder.com) hurray for Stampede!
