On December 13th I began the 12 days of cookies. This entails baking a different kind of cookie every day/night up till December 24th. I am doing this for two reasons. 1) I am hoping making cookies will get me in the spirit and 2) I am giving cookies to family and friends for Christmas presents and spreading out the baking ensures a nice variety package can be given.
So far I have made melt-in-your-mouth sugar cookies (better home and gardens name, not mine all though they were tasty!), snickerdoodles (which are nothing like snickers in case you were wondering), fudgy cappuccino crinkles and tonight I am baking orange creamsicle cookies as I type this. Most of my recipes are from the Better Home and Gardens Cookbook (the red check plaid covered one) and a few are from our friend Internet.
I am making extra extra extra creamsicle ones as I am in a cookie exchange at work tomorrow evening. This also means I will be bringing home 5 different types of cookies to add to my growing collection. Thank goodness I have a deep freeze to keep them all fresh.
I am excited that I made it one third of the way through my goal. What are you doing to get ready for Christmas?

I'm actually doing the same as you, although not on such a grand scale. I've baked some cookies and am going to attempt a lemon lavender pound cake tonight (staff pot-luck tomorrow). I might look up some of your recipes online as I told D I would send him some cookies next week out at the mine.
Baked with lurve... :P
Oh I'd love to take part in a cookie exchange! No one does them around here though.......
